24 May 10

Tapton Ladies celebrated their 10th Anniversary on Saturday 22nd May 2010 in the Hallam Room at Tapton Hall.

Where did all those years go? In the year 2000, 200 ladies met to celebrate the millennium. Lunch was followed with a talk given by Paul Kidd, Equerry to the Queen Mother, This was so successful that several more meetings were organised for the following year and so 10 years have passed.

Talks and presentations have been quite varied, from historians to comedians and fashion shows to gardeners. Terry Waite and Ann Widdecombe have also been our guests and we have had the occasional pampering evening. Refreshments may consist of afternoon tea, luncheon or a glass of wine in the evening. For our 10th Anniversary we enjoyed lunch in the Hallam Room followed by an appearance and talk by ‘Mary, Queen of Scots’ which was both entertaining and enlivening.

During the last 10 years Tapton Ladies have raised approximately £9,000 for Charity. Thank you all for supporting us.

If any ladies would like to join our group please ring 0114 2467947 or leave your name, address and telephone number in the pigeon hole opposite Reception at Tapton Hall. We meet socially, to enjoy a talk or presentation and to enjoy each other’s company.
